KABUL: Ministry of Defense (MoD) confirmed that at least 20 Taliban fighters were killed and 21 others were injured in a ongoing heavy clashes in different areas of Farah province of Afghanistan.
General Dawlat Waziri, Spokesman of Ministry of Defense, told media that the clashes broke out in the provincial capital and Bala Bolok district of Farah province. Waziri confirmed that eight Afghan soldiers were also killed and three others were injured in the incident.
Taliban and other groups are actively operating in the as the Farah province of Afghanistan is among the relatively volatile provinces in western Afghanistan. The militants often carry out insurgency activities in the form of coordinated attacks, suicide blasts, and roadside bombings in different parts of the province.
