200 female students take part in Judo championship

QUETTA: Quetta is hosting a three-day National Judo Karate Championship which is being dominated by an overwhelming presence of female competitors from all around Pakistan.

Organised at the Sardar Bahadur Khan’s Women University, the participants from twenty different universities of Pakistan took part in the championship.

The championship kicked off with matches that exhibited the expertise of competitors from across Pakistan.

More than 200 female students participated and exhibited their karate skills during the competition. Students from 20 different universities of Pakistan participated in the National Judo Championships.

The participants appreciated the efforts made by the organisers and expressed the hope that more of such competitions would be held to promote sports, especially for female athletes.

The participants also expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements made by the organisers.

“We keep hearing about security concerns in Quetta…about bomb blasts and the like. But we are being provided every kind of security during our stay here,” said a student participant.
