200 sugar diagnostic kits distributed

LANDIKOTAL: Two hundred sugar diagnostic kits were distributed among the deserving sugar patients here on Thursday. The kits comprised sugar diagnostic machine, blood pressure machine beside all necessary medicine ,needs to the sugar effectee.

In private market the kit costs approximately Rs. 10000 to 12000. On behalf of the health department, Medical Superintendent (MS) district headquarter hospital, Landi Kotal, Dr Naik Dad Afridi gave away 200 sugar diagnostic kits to the sugar patients.

Speaking on the occasion MS Naik Dad Afridi said that like other parts of the country, sugar disease were spreading rapidly in the area and presently number of sugar patients was in thousands that needed more than ten thousands sugar kits. He maintained that the hospital lacked insulin injection to treat the sugar patients. Raj Wali Shinwari, a fresh sugar patient lauded the act of the health department and said that majority of the sugar patients had poor economic condition and could not bear expenses of sugar tests. He said that with provision of the sugar analytic kit they would be able to carry out sugar test free of cost.
