22 profiteers arrested

PESHAWAR: District administration has arrested 22 shopkeepers during crackdown against profiteers in different markets of Hayatabad.

The arrested persons were included fruit & vegetable sellers, nanbais, milkmen, grocers, encroachment mafia and others.

On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Islamzeb, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Sara Tawab conducted raids Yusufzai Market, Zahid Market, Sher Khan Market, Behram Market, Super Market, Basharat Market and other markets and arrested 22 persons for overcharging consumers, selling underweight roti and not display of official price list.

The team of the district administration also arrested some shopkeepers for displaying goods outside their shops. The AAC Sara Tawab has warned the shopkeepers of all markets of Hayatabad for avoiding encroachments and overcharging from consumers. Otherwise, stern action will be taken against them.
