25 burnt to death at Kuala Lumpur school: officials

KUALA LUMPUR: As many as 25 persons were died and mostly of them were students when a fire erupted in a religious school in capital of Malaysia on Thursday morning.

The fire erupted in Tahfiz Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah a religious school located in a Datuk Keramat area of Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur in the morning, the rescue department confirmed that 23 students and two wardens were among dead persons and adding that they could have died due to smoke inhalation or trapped in the fire, officials told media.

A fire department official at the scene said that the fire erupted in bedrooms before dawn, and firefighters from a nearby station were on the scene within minutes. On the other hand the bodies have been moved to a nearby hospital, officials said.
