LASHKARGAH: At least 29 Taliban insurgents have been killed in foreign forces airstrike in the Sangin district of Halmand province, officials said on Monday.
Maj. Wali Shah, deputy spokesman for 215th Maiwand Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News the foreign forces targeted a training center of militants in Muzak area of the district on Sunday.
He said 29 rebels were killed in the air raid. On the other hand, Omar Zwak, the governor’s spokesman confirmed the airstrike and without giving exact figures said Taliban suffered casualties in the raid. Government officials have shared a video of the airstrike.
In the video, a house looks in a farmland and a number of people who are busy on military movements come under airstrike.
Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
But the group spokesman tweeted that the insurgents inflicted huge casualties on security forces in Lashkargah City, Greshk and Nad Ali districts late on Sunday night. (Pajhwok)
