3-day Art and Fashion Festival kicks off at GIK

PESHAWAR: The three-day All Pakistan Art and Fashion Festival kicked off with much funfair at the prestigious Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology in Swabi on Saturday.

The festival is featuring various programmes and activities including theatre dramas, art exhibition, painting competitions, fashion show and a lot of more to entertain the visitors and hone skills of the students.

The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) is sponsoring the festival with an aim to showcase the talents and skills of the students of different institutions from across the country.

On the first day, the students presented theatre dramas themed on different topics and cultures. The guest and visitors enjoyed event.

The students, both male and female, had also painted their faces and hands with various colours sending meaningful messages to the viewers. They later participated in the face painting competitions as well.

The students in their dramas gave messages on various aspects of life including that of non-violence in society, importance of education particularly science and technology and services to humanity.

Fine arts competitions are also part of the festival to be held today. The students will participate in a painting competition on the scenic Beer Gali located in Swabi district. They will showcase its different aspects of beauty and sereneness through their paintings.

It will be by followed by a fashion show rehearsal, cultural paintings on T-Shirts and other competitions where models featuring different cultural and traditional dresses will hold catwalk on the ramp.

The students hailed the festival and said that it was the best opportunity for them to interact with each other and learn a lot about the culture, traditions, scenic places and other aspects of life of the people and the province as well.

They said the event not only helped increased their knowledge but also broaden their vision about culture and traditions of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
