3 Taliban die in Badakhshan
KUNDUZ: Afghan security forces killed a Taliban shadow district governor along with his two aides in northeastern Badakhshan province, police said Thursday.
Mullah Muhammad Sangaryar, Taliban governor for Shuhada district, and his two aides were killed by security forces in an ambush in Korkho area of Baharak district at approximately 9:00 p.m. (local time), Sanaullah Rohani, spokesman of Badakhshan governor, told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).
He said two more Taliban fighters were injured in the engagement, adding there were no casualties to security forces.
When contacted Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said they were collecting information and would be released later any there was any such incident.
