PESHAWAR: District administration Tuesday arrested 36 persons in crackdown against profiteers and encroachment mafia in Nauthia and Tehkal areas of the district.
The arrested shopkeepers were included fresh milk sellers, fruit & vegetable sellers, grocers and proprietors of restaurants.
On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Islamzeb, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC), Hamayun Khan conducted raids in Nauthia and surrounding areas and arrested 22 persons for profiteering, poor cleanliness conditions and erecting of encroachments outside their shops.
Similarly, AAC Salahuddin carried checking of different shops and restaurants in Tehkal and University Road and arrested 14 persons for profiteering, poor cleanliness conditions and erecting of encroachments.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, Peshawar has directed all Additional Assistant Commissioners for taking stern action against profiteers and encroachments in their respective areas and giving no relaxation to anyone in this regard.
