BADIN: 10 new cases of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) surfaced in Badin district of Sindh whereas the total number of affected patients exceeded 90 in past month.
As per details, administration set up a three-day blood screening camp at District Central Jail where blood samples of 380 prisoners were taken. Out of all, four prisoners were tested HIV positive.
Deputy Commissioner Hafeez Ahmed Sial reported that these four HIV-affected prisoners belong to Thatta and their age is from 15 to 30 years old.
Earlier this month, Ministry of National Health Services and Economic Affairs Division in collaboration with Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) launched a pilot project of introducing mobile health clinics in select districts of provinces Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The district of Pakhtunkhwa with Tribal districts are Kohistan, Shangla, Kohat, Lakki Marwat D.I Khan, Kurram, Orakzai, Mohamand and districts of Sindh province are Mirpurkhas, Umarkot, Tharparker, Badin, Thatta, and Sujawal.
