4 new polio cases reported in merged districts

PESHAWAR. Four new polio cases have been reported from  merged districts while the polio campaign will be kicked off in 15 district of KP from January, 29 .

According to the Polio Emergency Operation Center four new polio cases, two in Khyber while two in Mohmand district have been confirmed by National Institute of Health Islamabad.

The report added that polio virus has been confirmed in 24 months and nine months old children in Khyber district.

Similarly in district Momand polio virus has been confirmed in six month old girl and nine month old boy adding that these children had not been vaccinated.

According to the Polio Emergency Operation Center the Polio campaign has been delayed, which had to be started on January, 27 January 2020, because of the unavailability of vaccines adding that drive will be started on January 29.

The Polio Emergency Operation Center directed all the Deputy Commissioners of 15 district to chalk out plane for the upcoming Polio campaign to be held on 29 January, 2020.
