413 New COVID-19 cases in Afghanistan, highest so far

KABUL (TOLO News): The Afghan Ministry of Public Health announced on Thursday that 413 new coronavirus cases were reported in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 5,639.

The new cases have been reported in Kabul (188), Kandahar (34), Ghazni (35), Nangarhar (30), Balkh (24), Baghlan (25), Samangan (20), Paktia (15), Wardak (9), Logar (7), Nimruz (5), Laghman (5), Panjshir (2), Faryab (1), Zabul (3), Paktika (4), Sar-e-Pul (5) and Nuristan (1).

Kabul is still one of the worst hotspots for COVID-19– in the past 24 hours out 188 out of 441 cases were positive.

Four people have died in the past 24 hours, bringing the known national death toll to 136.

The total number of recoveries is 691.

So far 19,732 people have been tested in the country.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 297,220, and 4,347,921 have been infected with the virus, according to Johns Hopkins University.
