PESHAWAR (APP): On the orders of Peshawar High Court, district administration Peshawar carried out a grand operation against commercial activities in the University Town on Sunday and sealed 57 concerns including private clinics, offices of non-governmental organizations, schools, hostels and banks.
On orders of the high court and directives of the Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mehsud and Deputy Commissioner Shafiullah Khan, the Additional Assistant Commissioner, Syeda Zainab Naqvi carried out operation in the University Town and sealed 20 private clinics, 10 NGOs and 15 renowned schools, 10 girls & boys hostels and a branch of the HBL.
Besides, a heavy contingent of police, the authorities of Peshawar Electric Supply Company, SNGPL and Water Supply & Sanitation Programme (WSSP) also accompanied the team of the district administration during the operation against commercial activities in the residential University Town.
The electricity, gas and water connections of these commercial concerns were also disconnected.
Speaking on the occasion, AAC Zainab Naqvi said that commercial activities in residential areas have been banned and vowed to implement the orders of the high court in letter and spirit in this regard.
