HELMAND: The security forces killed 6 Taliban militants in Uruzgan and Helmand provinces.
The security forces also confiscated large caches of weapons and explosives during the operations.
The informed military sources said Friday that airstrikes in Tarinkot district of Uruzgan killed 4 Taliban militants and wounded another Taliban fighter.
The sources further added that the Afghan Special Forces conducted a raid in Shahid-e Hassas district and confiscated a large weapons cache containing 2 machine guns, 6 grenades, 12 RPGs, 15 rifles and IED-making components. The Special Forces also destroyed 103 pounds of Heroin and 2,000 pounds of Urea Nitrate during the operation.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Special Forces killed 2 Taliban fighters and detained 3 others in Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand.
The Special Forces also destroyed 75 pounds of homemade explosives and 4 pressure plates during the same operation.
The Taliban militants have not commented regarding the operations so far.(Khaama Press)
