629 culprits, nine POs arrested last year: AC

PESHAWAR: Assistant Commissioner, Batkhela Khurram Parvez has said that 629 culprits and nine Proclaimed Offenders (POs) were arrested from the limits of Levies Post Batkhela during last year’s campaign against anti-social elements.

Talking to media on Tuesday, he said during this period a total of 445 cases were reported out of which 430 challans cases were presented in courts while 15 cases remained under investigation. He said 1.9 kg hashish, 155 liters of wine, 1.45 kg opium, 192 grams heroin and 150 grams ice were seized. Similarly three Kalashnikov, 31 pistols, two guns and 1690 cartages were also recovered.

The AC said that 10 cases each of murder and car lifting, 23 attempt to murder, 12 cases of fatal accidents, 166 cases of drug trafficking, 33 of illegal arms and 111 cases of different other crimes were registered.

He informed that all Post Commanders in Batkhela sub-division have clearly been directed to initiate special campaign against anti-social elements including thieves, car-lifters, abductors and drug pushers diverting available resources and energies to clear society of criminals.
