7 Orakzai Scouts martyred in terror attack; 4 attackers killed

A tragic terror attack in the Ghanda Mela area of Orakzai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claimed the lives of at least seven personnel of the Orakzai Scouts, official sources confirmed on Monday.

According to police, the incident occurred late on Sunday night when terrorists ambushed and opened fire on security vehicles near the Ghanda Mela checkpost. Four soldiers were martyred on the spot, while three others, who were critically injured in the attack, succumbed to their injuries during treatment on Monday.

The personnel were identified as Sepoy Rahat Khan, Sepoy Ishrat, Sepoy Sanaullah, and Havaldar Naseeb. All were serving with the Orakzai Scouts, a key paramilitary force in the region engaged in counterterrorism duties.

In response to the ambush, security forces returned fire, killing four suspected terrorists.
