8 killed as high-profile attack planners of Taliban targeted in forces raid

Monitoring Desk

KABUL: At least eight militants were killed in a Special Forces raid targeting a group of high-profile attack planners of Taliban in South-eastern Ghazni province.

“In Andar district, Afghan special forces targeted Taliban high profile attack planners killing 8 Taliban fighters and detaining 1,” the military sources said Tuesday.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the raid so far.

Ghazni is among the relatively volatile provinces in South-east of Afghanistan.

Taliban militants are active in some of the restive districts of the province where they often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities against the government and security institutions.(Khaama Press)
