Abducted ICRC staff members freed

KABUL: The head of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Afghanistan, Monica Zanarelli has said that two abducted members of the ICRC were released by the armed groups back in February this year in Jawzjan province.

The two ICRC members were kidnapped by the armed group in Jawzjan province and killed the other six colleagues of the abducted members of the ICRC in the attack.

Monica said while issuing a statement in this regard and adding that they are happy after the release of their two members and also were sad on the killing of six others colleagues

The ICRC staff members were abducted while on their way to deliver assistance in Jawzjan province. The two staff members had been with six other colleagues at the time. The other six were shot and killed in the same attack.
