Abdullah raises serious questions regarding release of Khalilullah Ferozi, Haji Delawar
KABUL: President runner and chief executive of the unity government Abdullah Abdullah raised serious questions regarding the release of the former CEO of Kabul Bank KhalilullahFerozi and former Senate adviser Haji Delawar.
Speaking during a gathering in Kabul, Abdullah said why the government decided to release Ferozi ahead of the presidential elections.
Abdullah further added “Why Ferozi served for five years in the jail if he was innocent?”
He also added that Delawar, the Senate adviser was arrested as he was attempting to transport terrorists in his vehicle.
According to Abdullah, a security official said the Haqqani terrorist network leaders could not sleep the whole night when Delawar was arrested.
Abdullah also raised questions regarding the government’s approach while dealing with NezamuddinQaisari, former telecommunications minister Wahidi and Gen. Ahmadzai.
This comes as reports emerge earlier last week suggesting that government has released Mr. Ferozi from the prison.
According to reports, the security forces transferred Mr. Ferozi to his residence after receiving instructions from President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
President Ghani reportedly issued the instruction for the transfer of Mr. Ferozi after receiving recommendations from a delegation which was appointed to review Mr. Ferozi’s case, particularly focusing on his deteriorating health condition and the steps he has taken so far to fulfill the financial commitments he had made pertaining the Kabul Bank collapse case.
