KABUL: Calling terrorism as ‘the enemy of humanity’ and ‘a threat to international security’, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah stressing improved Afghan security forces’ capacity and a clampdown on terrorists’ financial sources.
Abdullah expressed these views during a meeting with the Under-Secretary-General of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, Vladimir Voronkov, in his office this morning.
A statement from the CEO to Pajhwok Afghan News said that Abdullah thanked the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism for its anti-terror efforts and support to the Afghan government.
“Terrorism is the enemy of humanity and a threat to international peace and security, Afghanistan which is in the front line fighting this phenomenon, is ready for any type of support with the international community for elimination of terrorism and its threats,” the CEO said.
Vladimir Voronkov thanked the Afghan government and the people for their untiring efforts against terrorism and assured of the UN’s full support and cooperation in countering terrorism and tracking and freezing terrorist financial sources.
