Abu Dhabi International Book Fair to launch online sessions

DUBAI: Abu Dhabi International Book Fair collaborated with Emirates Literature Foundation to launch a series of virtual sessions.

The program, expected to run until June 15, will feature 10 authors and artists from around the world, to discuss a wide variety of themes – from history and education to entertainment and science.

The sessions, which are in collaboration with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), will be broadcasted live on the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair’s YouTube channel.

“These fun and informative virtual sessions will strengthen the reputation of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair and ensure that we continue to engage our diverse audience, which includes readers, writers, artists, families and publishing industry professionals,” said Abdullah Al-Ali, executive director of the Dar Al Kutub Sector at DCT in a released statement.

In March, the fair announced the postponement of its 30th edition, which was scheduled to take place in April, over fears of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
