Acting DSP, constable martyred in targeted attack in Mastung

F.P. Report

MASTUNG: An acting DSP and a police constable were martyred after their official vehicle was attacked in Mastung on Friday.

According to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, the firing incident occurred on the National Highway in Mastung. As a result, the acting DSP and a Balochistan Constabulary official embraced martyrdom, while two others sustained injuries.

All the injured were promptly shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.

Shahid Rind added that initial reports suggest the acting DSP’s vehicle was the target of the attack.

Security forces reached the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers.

Rind stated, “Terrorist attacks reflect the frustration of those who oppose peace. The resolve of the people of Balochistan and our security forces remains unshaken.”

He added that a formal investigation into the incident is underway, and those responsible will be brought to justice.

PM Shehbaz expresses grief

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of police personnel in the terrorist attack on a police mobile in Mastung, Balochistan.

He offered prayers for the deceased and patience for the bereaved families.

The prime minister instructed authorities to provide urgent medical care to the injured on a priority basis and vowed that the nefarious plans of terrorists aiming to harm national security will be crushed.

He reaffirmed the government’s and security forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.

Mohsin Naqvi condemns attack

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the attack in a statement, offering condolences and denouncing Fitna-Al-Hindustan — the government’s term for terrorist outfits operating in Balochistan.

On July 16, a passenger bus came under fire in Balochistan’s Kalat, leaving three dead and seven injured. Earlier this month, three police officers were wounded in an attack on a highway patrol vehicle in Nasirabad District.
