MUMBAI: Hundreds of Shri Rajput Karni Sena activists on Tuesday attacked the cinema hall in Kota to protest against the screening the trailer of ‘Padmavati’ the next movie of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s, which the group claims that the historical character Rani Padmavati was presented in a disrespectful way against the historical facts.
Indian newspaper reported that the protestors damaged the booking counters, windows, gates, and office furniture of the theatre, informs an Indian newspaper. The paper added that the protestors have pelted stones at the theatre.
Police reached the spot and the protestors dispersed and police arrested as many as eight after the violence and proceedings were on against 30-40 other people. However, no case has been registered in connection with the violence as local police officials said that were waiting for a complaint from the manager of the cinema hall.
