Admn tightens checking of vehicles at check posts

LAKKI MARWAT: The local administration has tightened checking of vehicles at border check posts following complaints about shifting of passengers in goods transportation vehicles in clear violation of Corona virus related guidelines and instructions.

After receiving complaints deputy commissioner Abdul Haseeb along with ADC Noorul Amin and AC Nadir Shahzad Khan reached the border check posts at midnight and checked vehicles. The authorities did not find any passenger travelling in goods transportation vehicle and directed policemen to be vigilant and thoroughly check vehicles entering the district.

Haseeb said that his administration would implement the ban on public transport service in letter and spirit, adding that no one will be allowed to travel in goods transport vehicles.

He also warned goods transporters to avoid providing commuting service to people otherwise they would face strict legal action. He also appreciated the performance of policemen posted at border check posts and said that the government and people would defeat the world pandemic through concerted and integrated efforts.

The deputy commissioner also visited Lakki city and other towns to inspect the implementation of lockdown, social distancing and other preventive measures of COVID-19. He took notice of vehicles’ movement and ordered relevant authorities and traffic wardens to clear roads and make sure unnecessary vehicles should not come on roads. He also advised citizens to maintain social distancing and avoid public contacts while shopping in bazaars. Mr Haseeb asked the people to stay indoors as unnecessary movement could infect them.
