Afghan airstrike kills 10 policemen in Helmand

HELMAND: At least 10 policemen were killed in Afghan airstrike conducted in Helmand province on Sunday as the military trying to push back the Taliban fighters.

Helmand governor, Hayatullah Hayat told media agency that Afghan forces started operation against the Taliban fighters to push them back. Afghan forces also conducted airstrike in which 10 policemen were killed in Gereshk district of Helmand province.

Most of opium-rich Helmand province is controlled by the Taliban fighters, who are heavily dependent on the proceeds of drug trafficking to fuel their insurgency.
