KABUL (Khaama Press): Hashmatullah Shahidi, the captain of Afghanistan’s national cricket team, has been appointed as the company’s new brand ambassador by Etisalat Afghanistan Telecommunications Company, a branch of Etisalat Telecommunications Group, based in the United Arab Emirates.
According to a statement from the telecommunications company, the national cricket team skipper was signed as the brand ambassador.
The statement stated that Shahidi, the captain of the Afghan National cricket team in test and ODI matches, will appear in a number of TV, print, and online advertisements for Etisalat’s brand positioning and product promotions.
The CEO of Etisalat Afghanistan, Mohamed Osman, at the signing ceremony said that “Hashmatullah Shahidi is a young and energetic cricketer who is brilliant both on the cricket pitch and in his social life. His hard work and dedication have inspired the young generation to be positive and follow their dreams.”
Shahidi expressed delight at joining the Etisalat family and noted that the company’s participation and contribution in Afghanistan’s telecommunication sector have elevated it to the position of “number one” among networks in the country.
The company has served as the official sponsor of Afghanistan’s cricket team and previously appointed Mohammad Nabi and Hamid Hassan, Afghan National cricket team players, as its brand ambassadors.
Etisalat has provided several forms of assistance to Afghanistan throughout its operation. Etisalat has been working on youth empowerment through its sponsorship of sports and other educational initiatives.
The telecommunications company, previously in early September, also provided cash assistance to 200 flood-hit families in the Logar province of eastern Afghanistan, devastated by the recent flash floods.
