Afghan forces competent enough to defeat Taliban: Dr Abdullah

KABUL: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Afghanistan, Dr Abdullah Abdullah has said that the Afghan forces are fully capable of destroying the anti-state militants including Taliban group in the country.

Dr Abdullah is on the official visit to United States of America and Canada where he attended the conference of Halifax International Security Forum. Abdullah also met leaders of various countries on the sideline of the conference.

While addressing to the conference, Dr Abdullah said some countries are still supporting the Taliban; the Afghan forces are capable of defeating the terrorists.

He said the new US strategy for Afghanistan and region was beneficial for peace and security and adding that the strategy was clear about the hideouts of terrorists.

He was hopeful that Taliban would get ready for negotiations otherwise they have no chance of winning the war against the Afghan forces.
