Afghan forces conducted 4 clearance and 90 Special Forces tasks in past 24 hours: MoD

KABUL (Khaama Press): The Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan has announced that the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 4 clearing operations and carried out 90 Special Forces tasks in past 24 hours in different parts of the country in order to remove security threats and ensure security.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Defense, the Afghan Air Forces also conducted 120 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried out 8 airstrikes on enemies’ positions, resulting into the killing of 26 insurgents, 13 were wounded while 2 suspects were arrested.

The statement further added that the operations were conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces and with the support of Air forces in Kunar, Logar, Ghazni, Oruzgan, Baghlan, Kundoz and Helmand provinces.

“In these operations, 21 insurgents including 3 Taliban local commanders were killed and 13 others were wounded in Emam Saheb district of Kundoz. 4 insurgents were killed, 2 suspects were arrested, a hideout, 100 kilograms of opium and some explosives and rounds of weapon and ammunition destroyed in Naichin and Melzai villages of Trenkut, Oruzgan capital. Similarly, an insurgent was killed in Shaltan district of Kunar,” the statement said.

The anti-government armed militants have not commented regarding the report so far.
