Afghan forces foil terrorist plot in Jalalabad city

JALALABAD: Afghan security forces have arrested a suspect in a connection to a major terrorist attack plan in the city.

The forces told Afghan media that arrested terrorist identified as Asrarullah and he was member of Taliban group. Official added that terrorist was arrested on intelligence report as he was trying to transport heavy weapons with the aim to launch a deadly attack in the city.

The arrested suspect confessed that he was attempting to transport the weapons to his comrades in the city for the attack, the officials added.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as that a group of insurgents launched a coordinated attack on Save the Children office in the 3rd police district of Jalalabad city at around 9 am on Wednesday.
