F.P. Report

LANDI KOTAL: Amarat-e-Islami Afghanistan closed the Pak-Afghan sharing border Torkham on Monday for pedestrian crossing however transportation of export and import was in progress.

The border security forces of Afghanistan refused to let the citizens of the two neighboring countries to move either side of the border.

According to the Afghan officials the Pakistani Interior Minister had said during his visit to the border last week that the border would resume for general crossing on Sept 12 but the Pak government didn’t keep its promise therefore they shut the border in protest.

It is to be stated here that for the last several months Pak authorities have restricted the Torkham border due to Covid 19 and only Pakistani citizens are permitted to cross in and relaxation have been granted to Afghan patients to come to Pakistan. In the same way from this side only Afghan nationals are allowed to go to their motherland.
