PAKTIKA (Khaama Press): The Afghan security forces have arrested a parliamentary candidate who was convicted of fraud and was awarded a 5-year jail term.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in a statement said one of the residents of Paktika province who was convicted of fraud and was awarded a 5-year jail term by a court, was arrested by the police forces of Counter-Criminal Task Force of Balkh Police.
The statement further added that the convict was attempting to flee country via Hairatan port but was identified and arrested by police forces tasked with controlling the port.
The Ministry of Interior also added that the convicted individual was one of the candidates of parliamentary elections.
