The leadership members of electoral commissions, members of political parties, representatives of some national and international agencies and officials of concerned departments attended the gathering.
Addressing the meeting, Wasima said the next presidential election would be held on April 20, 2019. If the presidential election is held as per the schedule and the provincial assembly polls are delayed, it would put positive impacts on the activities of the commission to hold the national process, he added.
Various viewpoints existed about holding the presidential and provincial assembly elections on a same date and separately, he said. The IEC would announce its stance in this regard soon, he added.
