Afghan security forces thwart terrorist plot in Kabul

Monitoring Desk

KABUL: Afghan Security Forces thwarted a terrorist plot after confiscated ten kilograms of explosives along with an artillery shell and other types of explosives from the area.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials told Afghan media that the militants were planning to detonate explosives on a roadside in the vicinity of the 17th police district of the city in Ghaibi Baba Township.

Earlier on Friday, the CID officials said Friday that the Afghan forces have thwarted a plot by the anti-government armed militants to carry out a rocket attack on Kabul.

The officials further added that the militants were looking to target the city with a BM-1 rocket from Chahar Asiab district.

This comes as the anti-government armed groups are attempting to carry out attacks in the key provinces and cities of the country during the recent months.

At least six Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were wounded in an explosion in Kabul city on Wednesday morning.
