Afghanistan-China-Pakistan trilateral talk ends in Beijing

BEIJING: The trilateral talks between Afghanistan-China-Pakistan ended in Beijing on Tuesday and the foreign ministers agreed to promote relations and work for the sustainable peace and development in the area.

The first of its kind dialogue between the three nations was held they the foreign minister discussed development, connectivity, security and fighting against terrorism.

The trilateral talk was held on the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, delegation from Pakistan and Afghanistan attended the moot. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani headed the respective delegations.

While talking to media, after the meeting, Wang Yi said that we focused to strengthen the relations and the talks on One Road One Belt was productive and he assured that the efforts to boost relations with Afghanistan and Pakistan will continue.

He added that we have to strengthen the ties as we three are neighbors and this is natural we have to work together for the betterment of each other and development of the region.

 

Wang said the purpose of the talks is to establish a communication platform for Afghanistan and Pakistan and strengthen the trilateral cooperation.

He urged the two countries to build trust, boost understanding and improve bilateral relations.
