KABUL: The Afghanistan Under-20 National Futsal Team has made it to the semi-finals of the Asian U-20 Futsal Championship.
The Afghanistan Football Federation said the Afghan team qualified to semi-finals of the Asian U-20 Futsal Championship by defeating Thailand.
The statement further added that Afghanistan defeated Thailand 3-2 on Tuesday.
Twelve Asian Futsal teams are competing in the Asian U-20 Futsal Championship in Tabriz city of Iran.
Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Football Federation said this is the first time Afghanistan is qualifying to semi-finals of the Asian U-20 Futsal Championship.
The Football Federation also that Afghanistan has shined well in the past games. Therefore, the Afghan team could be one of the main claimants of U-20 Futsal Championship trophy, according to Afghanistan Football Federation added.
In the meantime, the Football Federation said Afghanistan will play against Indonesia in semi-finals of the tournament on Thursday.(Khaama Press)
