AG: Govt to address prosecution’s issues to ensure speedy justice

PESHAWAR: Advocate General (AG) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Javeed said that prosecution is backbone of criminal judicial system while it is foundation for provision of justice if the offense/case should deal professionally, on Saturday.

This he said while addressing District Public Prosecutors (DPPs) meeting and added that minor error at trial stage in court can damage whole case which ultimately lead to denial of justice. He claimed that it is necessary to overcome deficiencies in the system while provincial government is committed to address grievances of prosecution officers.

Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed that he would personally upheld the issue with provincial government to strengthen prosecution which will ultimately lead to provision of justice at trial judiciary/ district courts.

Additional Advocate General Jalal-u-Din Akbar, Azam Khan Gara, Umar Farooq, Muhammad Nisar and Danyal Khan Chamkani were also accompanied AG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the ceremony.

Prosecution Officers Welfare Association president Sangeen Shah and General Secretary Javeed Mohmand along with district public prosecutors from all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were present.

Advocate General said that currently prosecution department is facing several problems while he will upheld the issue with provincial government to ensure provision of justice. He argued DPPs to monitors their subordinates including deputy and assistant public prosecutors at their respective districts to award them for their services.

AG Amir Javeed claimed that all demands of Public Prosecutor would be placed before provincial government for redressal while DPPs briefed AG regarding proceedings of criminal cases at trial judiciary.
