Age-Group 30-39 at highest risk of contracting coronavirus

ISLAMABAD: On Monday the tally of the total infection from the coronavirus reached to 31,000 while the count of total infections in country’s capital reached to 679 in which the age group of 30-39 are on highest risk in Islamabad as 160 infection reported in this age group the data obtained by the Frontier Post revealed. 

The data revealed that a population of 232,183, a total of 160 coronavirus infections reported from the 30-39 age groups with 6.9% (attack rate per/10,000. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqat told Frontier Post that this age group reported highest number of cases till yet while on high risk, he added that these age groups people are infected more because they are careless and not adopting the precautionary measures and roaming in markets and public places. The second highest age groups which are on target of covid-19 are 20-29 and till yet 133 patients of the virus reported in the federal capital. The data shows that in population of 354,229 of this age group a total of 133 cases reported with a percentage of 3.75.

Its pertained to mentioned here that following the direction of the Prime Minister Imran khan of leasing lockdown across the country, Islamabad administration as well eased lockdown despite the virus is spreading like a wildfire as more than 40 cases reported in a single day in Islamabad and the markets and commercial premises are packed these due to the shopping of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The data mentioned that third highest target of the virus is 40-49 years age group and till yet in a population of 168,133 a total of 115 cases of the deadly pandemic reported in the capital with a percentage of 6.84. Frontier Post obtained data mentioned that 70-79 and 80 and above age group peoples are on lowest risk due to less number of cases reported from this age group in Islamabad. In 70-79 age group in a population of 360,28 a total of thirteen cases reported till yet with a 3.61% as well in the 80 and above age group in  a population of 160,13 a total of 8 cases reported till yet in Islamabad with a percentage of 5.00 the data mentioned.

It’s pertained to mentioned here that in Islamabad sector I-10, Barakhu and Tarali are the hotspot of the virus and more number of cases reported from these hotspot. But Deputy Commissioner Islamabad told Frontier Post that Islamabad spreading of virus is low than other province as in a population of 2,001,579 till yet a total of 679 cases reported with percentage of 3.20.
