Agreement between US, Taliban will help promote peace: FM

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says recent agreement between US and Taliban will help promote peace and stability in the region.

He was talking to renowned US Scholar and Dean of Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies Vali Reza Nasr, who called on him in Islamabad on Monday.

The Foreign Minister said the agreement will also resolve internal affairs of Afghanistan.

The two leaders also discussed issues pertaining to US policy about Middle East and South Asia.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said the Sufia and Aulia Kiram have played vital role in preaching and promotion of Islamic teachings in the world.

He was talking to Sajjad Nishine-Darbar Ghauth Azam Baghdad Sheikh Syed Khalid Abdul Qadir Mansoor Gilani who called on him in Islamabad.

Sheikh Abdul Qadir Mansoor, on the occasion, appreciated the Foreign Minister for his pivotal role in presenting the positive face of Pakistan in the Muslim world.
