TIMERGARA: The Lower Dir agriculture department was provided with modern and cost effective agricultural machinery and equipment that included an innovative bush cutter, wheat harvesting machine, small tractor and weeding appliances.
A function in this regard was held at the Timergara farm services center where engineers and agriculturists of the Taiba Industries, Faisalabad handed over the machinery to district director agriculture Lower Dir Murad Ali. Provincial director model farm services centers Fayaz ud Din, officials of agriculture extension wing Lower Dir, local farmers and field staff attended the function.
The engineers also demonstrated cutting of thick timber and informed the local farmers about new methods in farming.
Speaking on the occasion provincial director model farm services centers said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa agriculture department was providing new farming machinery to all districts. He said this machinery would enhance performance of agriculture department which would help increase the soil produce.
The district director agriculture extension Murad Ali informed the participants that gone were the days when farmers used old methods of farming. He said the farmers should utilize this new machinery and agriculture tools to increase their production. He lauded the efforts of provincial government and said the provision of new machinery would enhance capacity of agriculture department in Dir.
