ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) offered free education to the students of Balochistan and Federally Administrated Tribal Area (FATA) from spring 2018 through the distance learning system.
AIOU is offering to students free education to FATA and Balochistan for the first time at secondary level for the people of less developed areas of the country.
Vice Chancellor of AIOU, Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui announced this on Monday while addressing the National Conference on English language and Literature.
He added that offering the free education to the students of Balochistan and FATA with the aim to promote education and give chance to the students of under developed areas.
AIOU is also providing scholarships to the deserving students to ensure that nobody should be left without education because of financial constraints.
To ease the access to education for all segments of society, accessibility centers were specially set up at their 44 regional offices for visually impaired students, VC added.
