KABUL: A series of airstrikes killed 14 Taliban militants in southern Uruzgan province.
The informed military sources said Tuesday that the security forces killed 14 Taliban militants during the airstrikes in TarinKot district of Uruzgan.
The Taliban militants have not commented regarding the airstrikes so far.
This comes as the security situation in some districts of Uruzgan has deteriorated during the recent months.
Taliban militants are active in some restive districts of Uruzgan and often conduct terrorist related activities.
Meanwhile, the Afghan forces are busy conducting counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government armed groups in this province.
The US forces also conduct regular airstrikes in restive parts of the country to suppress Taliban and other anti-government militants.
Airstrike kills Taliban’s shadow district chief and his fighters in Farah: An airstrike killed the shadow district chief of Taliban for BalaBolok district of Farah province. The 207th Zafar Corps in a statement said the security forces carried out the airstrike in Arif Village of BalaBolok district.
The statement further added that the airstrike killed Mullah Esamuddin, the shadow district chief of Taliban for BalaBolok district.
The airstrike also killed three fighters of Mullah Esamuddin and destroyed a vehicle.(Khaama Press)
