Karachi: Pakistan’s ace tennis player Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and his doubles partner Jean-Julien Rojer from Netherlands advanced into the ATP Barcelona World Tennis Championship doubles final after beating Nicolas Jarry from Chile and Guido Pella from Argentina by 7-6 (5), 3-6, 10-7 score in the semifinals.
Earlier in the quarterfinals, the Pakistani-Dutch pair defeated the top seeded pair of Lukasz Kubot from Poland and Marcelo Melo from Brazil by 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 score. In the Round of 16, the duo had beaten their Spanish counterparts Jaume Munar and Tommy Robredo by 7-5, 6-3 score.
Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Salim Saif Ullah Khan praised Aisam Aisam for his brilliant performance with his teammate and hoped that Aisam will continue his winning run to bag the title. Aisam has represented Pakistan at the international level for two decades. He also regularly represents Pakistan in Davis Cup ties.
