AKF KP announces Alkhidmat Award for journalists

PESHAWAR: Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (AKF KP) announced the Alkhidmat Award for Journalists (AAJ) on Wednesday. The occasion also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AKF KP and Peshawar Press Club (PPC), solidifying their collaboration in the domains of health, education, orphan sponsorship, and relief for the journalist community.

President AKF KP, Khalid Waqas, and President PPC, Arshad Aziz Malik, ceremoniously cut the ribbon, formally inaugurating the Alkhidmat Award for Journalists, which is designed to recognize the exceptional contributions of journalists to the development of welfare society.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony witnessed the presence of AKF KP General Secretary Shakir Siddiqui, Provincial Vice President Dr. Samiullah Jan, Director Media Dr. Yousaf Ali, Provincial Media Manager Noorul Wahid Jadoon, Director Alkhidmat Hospital Nishtarabad Peshawar Dr. Iqtedar Ahmed, General Secretary PPC Irfan Musa Zai, Former President PPC M. Riaz, and Manager Social Media Marketing AKF KP, Ahmed Abdullah, alongside other cabinet officials of PPC and senior club members.

Addressing the gathering, President AKF KP, Khalid Waqas, acknowledged the invaluable services rendered by the Peshawar journalist community in collaboration with Alkhidmat Foundation over the past two decades. Their unwavering dedication was evident in their response to various natural disasters, including earthquakes, floods, the global epidemic Corona, and bomb blasts, during which they made enduring sacrifices.

President Khalid Waqas emphasized the pivotal role played by both Alkhidmat Foundation and the journalist community in fostering a welfare-oriented society. He extended heartfelt appreciation to the journalists, announcing the Alkhidmat Award for Journalists, which entails cash prizes and shields across different categories. The initiative aims to recognize and applaud journalists for their remarkable efforts in highlighting the welfare activities of Alkhidmat Foundation and promoting awareness of humanitarian service.

He further expressed Alkhidmat’s enduring commitment to the welfare of the journalist community and announced the signing of an Memorandum of Understanding with Peshawar Press Club. The MoU, comprising health, education, orphan sponsorship, and community services, signifies Alkhidmat Foundation’s pledge to provide relief to deserving journalists.

President PPC, Arshad Aziz Malik, extended gratitude to Alkhidmat Foundation, commending their proactive efforts in support of the journalist community. He lauded the launching of the Alkhidmat Award for Journalists, highlighting its potential to inspire and motivate journalists. President Malik emphasized that the health, education, orphan care, and other welfare agreements forged by Alkhidmat Foundation would alleviate the challenges faced by journalists, ensuring facilities for those truly in need.
