MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar and Tamil megastar Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 hit the theatres on Thursday and during its extended weekend the film has raked in numbers that have surprised everyone including the makers of the film.
Made on a budget of over Rs 500 crores, the film has some world-class VFX in it and a lot of money was spent to make that look impressive. Whether it is Akshay’s look or Rajinikanth’s costume and the CG, the time and effort that went into the filming of this project was rather massive. The film has become the highest grossing South Indian film at the US box-office leaving behind the collections of Baahubali as well as Kabali.
In just four days the Hindi version of the film has collected over Rs 95 crores, the Telugu version has raked in Rs 52 crores, while figures of the Tamil version suggest a collection of around Rs 60 crores. The sum total of all the versions has been released including the collections abroad. The final sum is of a whopping Rs 400 crores approximately in just 4 days.
The film has passed the Monday test too with flying colours and another huge day is on the cards for the film.
