ALGERIA: The Algerian government hosted a reception in honour of Imam Walid Mehsas, who treated a cat kindly during Taraweeh prayers. Algerian Minister of Religious Affairs Dr. Youssef Belmahdi met Imam Walid and praised his kindness.
Recently, a video went viral in which a cat sat on the shoulders of the imam of the mosque during the Teraweeh prayer, but the imam continued reciting.
The video has gone viral across the globe and has so far been viewed millions of times on social media platforms.
The name of the imam of the mosque is Walid Mehsas and he is from Algeria. After the popularity of the video, the Algerian government held a reception in his honour.
