Aliya Hamza questions Gandapur’s announcement about protest movement

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Differences have emerged within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership regarding the direction and execution of its protest movement.

During a press conference in Lahore on Sunday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced the launch of a 90-day nationwide movement, declaring, “We will go all out in this movement.”

PTI Punjab chief organiser Aliya Hamza have raised doubts and questions over the clarity and coordination of PTI protest movement.

In a statement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Aliya wrote: “According to the information reaching me, I was very busy for the past two days and engaged in such activities that I might not have been fully informed.”

In a follow-up post, Aliya questioned the movement’s strategy, asking: “What action plan has been announced for the release of Imran Khan yesterday or today? Where and how will the movement be run? Where did this 90-day plan come from in comparison to the August 5 announcement?”

She added , “If any of you have seen the plan, please guide me too!” Aliya maintained: the sole focus and objective should be the release of Imran Khan, stressing, “The focus and target is only the release of the only one — and the slogan is only one.”

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja had earlier stated that he had spoken to Aliya and requested her to attend the parliamentary party meeting, but she was occupied with other important responsibilities.
