Allies of CPEC enemies are enemies of state: Ayaz Latif

KARACHI (Monitoring Desk): Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) President Ayaz Latif Palejo on Sunday said that allies of those opposing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project are enemies of the state.

“We will not let anyone make a deal on CPEC,” Palejo said while addressing a Mohabbat-e-Sindh (Love for Sindh) march at Tibet Centre in Karachi.

The march was held in protest against rising corruption, terrorism and extremism in the province and conspiracies against the CPEC project. “Allies of those opposing the [CPEC] project are also traitors.”

He stressed that there is no room for enemies of the state in Pakistan anymore, adding that QAT will strongly oppose enemies of CPEC. The march also raised the issues of the plight of the agricultural economy, Zulfiqarabad, and other ‘anti-Sindh’ projects.

Palijo had earlier accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari of conspiring with the ruling party, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), for a renewed national reconciliation ordinance (NRO). During a press conference in Hyderabad last month, Palijo had said that an NRO with the the PPP or any other political figure is unacceptable. He had also accused the Centre of ignoring the injustices of the Sindh government in the province.
