PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising of Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Dr. Khurshid Iqbal issued notices to Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in writ regarding allocating 3% quota to ministerial staff at Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner office in Provincial Management Services from tehsildar quota, on Thursday.
The writ was filed representatives of various employees’ associations in which Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Secretary Establishment, Secretary law & Parliamentary Affairs, Secretary Administration and Deputy Commissioner Peshawar along with others were made respondents in the petition.
The counsel Muhammad Farooq Afridi Advocate requested for suspension of operation notification No. SOE-II(ED)2(14/2022) dated 10 October 2022 and interim relief to restrain respondents from holding Provincial Selection Board (PSB) meeting for promoting ministerial staff of Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner office under 3% PMS quota till the final decision of writ petition.
The PHC’s divisional bench comprising of Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Dr. Khurshid Iqbal issued notice to Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while adjourned further hearing.
