Amir Muqam inaugurates exhibition of Quranic manuscripts

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister for Political, Public Affairs and National Heritage & Culture Engr Amir Muqam on Wednesday visited special Quran Exhibition here at Pakistan National Council of the Arts organized by National Heritage and Culture
Division (NH&CD).

The Adviser to Prime Minister, who was accompanied by Secretary National Heritage and Culture Fareena Mazhar, Senior Joint Secretary NH&CD Abdul Sattar Khokhar, Director General PNCA and other senior officials of the
division.

Adviser to PM Engr Amir Muqam said that looking at today’s exhibition, I feel a sense of spirituality. He said that National Heritage and Culture Division is also taking substantial steps to promote Islamic calligraphy. Adviser to PM was briefed on the various section of the exhibition on the occasion.

Engr Amir Muqam highly praised the artist Khan Shahnawaz Malhi for his amazing way to knit Quran with threads on Shesham wood stick.

The exhibition, which will continue till December 15, is attracting a large number of people as well as foreign delegates at PNCA. Khan Shahnawaz Malhi, a retired Sindh police officials, used a unique technique to hand-knit all verses and chapters of the Holy Quran on around 8,000 pencils. The drawing has been his favorite subject since childhood.

He weave the Quran by nylon thread with the help of his fingers, which is absolutely unique and amazing. No one in the world has done such art before. This amazing art is so unique, have no example before, certainly deserves a part of world records.

Exquisite display of this unique and amazing Quranic manuscript was organized by the Ministry of National Heritage & Culture Divison at PNCA.
