PESHAWAR: Muhammad Ammad, 15, is a star in making for Pakistan Squash and is expected to win laurels for the country and bring back the glory of Pakistan in the game. During the recently held All Fata National Junior Squash Championship Ammad was runner-up but his aggressive style of play was appreciated all around. Ammad who represents Pakistan Air Force and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, became the first Pakistani to reach the Quarter-Final of the British Junior Squash Championship Under-13 category after almost 10 years.
On his way to quarter final of the event he defeated players from England, USA and Ireland before losing to Egyptian in the quarter final. Ammad is currently coached by Tahir Iqbal Atlas and Falak Naz. Former World Champion Qamar Zaman was also seen on a number of occasions giving him tips which the legend always does for the youngsters. Also, during the National Squash Championship held in Hyderabad Ammad lost only one set on his way to becoming the national junior champion in Under-13 category.
Now Ammad is training hard for the upcoming Qatar Junior Squash Championship to be held in Doha. The youngster will leave for the tournament on February 28. He hopes to bring laurels for the country as he is training hard and both his coaches and seniors helping him both in-court and out-of court training.
